Gypsy’s future daughter’s name wasn’t drawn from a Disney princess. The reality TV star, who is expecting her first child with Ken, announced in November that they’ve chosen the name Aurora Raina Urker for their baby girl.

Now, the meaning behind the name is finally being shared.

“Ken came up with that,” Gypsy explained to PEOPLE Magazine, addressing speculation that the name Aurora was inspired by her stepmom Kristy’s dog, Aurora Grace. “It’s not because of that,” she clarified.

The inspiration for their baby girl’s name actually comes from their dream vacation.

“Back whenever Ken and I were together seven years ago, both of us have a fascination with the Northern Lights, and the proper term is the Aurora Borealis,” the ex-con explained. “I think it was maybe in 2018, we wrote each other’s future kid’s name on pieces of paper and Aurora is what we both picked without even knowing each other was picking it.”

Gypsy and Ken are planning an unforgettable trip to see the Northern Lights in person once she completes her parole. “Some day we’re going to see it,” she said. “After I’m off parole we’re going to go. We’re going to go to Sweden.”

“We have a long history. So, we first dated back in 2017 for two years … We have a two-year history under our belt,” Gypsy explained on “Radio Andy’s Andy Cohen Live.” “We separated for four and a half years, and then I got married and moved on … I married Ryan. And then I came out [of prison] and just realized that it was not the marriage that I wanted. And so, I filed for divorce and then reconnected with Ken. And a month later we got pregnant. It’s kind of been a journey.”

The dream of having a baby girl with Ken seemed to fade when the couple broke up in 2019, but it was reignited after they reconnected in 2023. “When we had broken up [it was like] ‘Oh, Aurora is never going to be born,’” she said. “A lot of people think the origin is one thing, but they don’t know that little story.”

“I’m happy to announce that I am 11 weeks pregnant. Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January 2025,” the 32-year-old, who is believed to be a victim of Munchausen by proxy, said. “You know it’s still going to be a long journey ahead, but I’m up for it. I feel a shift in myself.”

“When I found out that I was pregnant, none of anything else mattered; the drama on social media, the feud between creators and me, and all of that drama, it just all faded. It didn’t matter anymore,” she later added. “All that matters is that I’m healthy, the baby is healthy, and the relationship with Ken is healthy.”

Just days after sharing the news of her pregnancy with the world, Gypsy opened up to PEOPLE Magazine about her childhood and the significance of starting a family. Reflecting on her past, she recalled her mother telling her she “was never going to get married, raise a family, have kids, or do any of that.”

“So, to be here, standing on my own two feet and expecting my first baby, that’s something I’ve reached as an achievement and a personal goal,” she said. “I thank God every day that I am now having this second chance at life with a kid of my own.”

Gypsy added, “The way my mother parented me is definitely not the way I’m going to be. We always say for the next generation, we want to be better than we were raised, and so, for me, I think that couldn’t be any more truthful.”
